Grgich Hills Estate
Grgich Hills was founded in 1977 by Miljenko "Mike" Grgich and Austin Hills of the Hills Bros. Coffee family after Mike's 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay won the now-famous Paris Tasting, besting the top white Burgundies, and so Grgich Hills' wines were in high demand from the start. Our wine philosophy of consistency, quality, and longevity has led to ongoing critical and consumer acclaim for our elegant and food-friendly wines - Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Fume Blanc, and late-harvest "Violetta." Our vineyards are cetified organic and Biodynamic, a holistic farming pactice that uses the earth's cycles and natural perparations to create wines with pure flavors and a pronounced sense of place. The quality of the fruit, the tender care in the winery, and the aging regimen make these hand-crafted wines immediately enjoyable on release yet capable of maturing gracefully for many years.
Robert Mondavi Winery
A sprawling California Mission-style structure with graceful arches and an expansive courtyard, Robert Mondavi Winery offers one of the most comprehensive tour programs in the industry. A wonderful selection of programs is also available for those who are ready for a more advanced experience in the art of winemaking. Two tasting rooms feature the winery's limited production, special release and reserve wines by the glass, and give visitors the opportunity to discuss wines with very knowledgeable educators. You can also experience fine art, artifacts and many sculptures throughout the winery grounds.
St. Supery Vineyards & Winery
St. Supéry is a family-owned estate winery specializing in Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and other Bordeaux varietals and blends. A modern winery sits behind one of the most historic Queen Anne Victorian mansions in the Valley. The Victorian has been faithfully restored and is now a living museum of late-19th century vintner lifestyle. Guests may visit the house during guided tours and during special weekend tastings and seminars hosted by the winery chef. Guests are welcome daily in the winery tasting room and the second-story gallery that overlooks each area of winemaking and contains interesting fine art exhibits related to wine-growing in the Valley. The gallery also hosts art exhibitions throughout the year. For more intimate tastings of St. Supéry's estate wines and small lot wines sold only at the winery, the Divine Wine Room is open for guests on weekends and peak-season weekday afternoons. Both the serious wine connoisseur and the casual enthusiast are welcomed in style by the famously friendly staff.
